In December of 2004 Samsu Mia was offered Permanent Residency in Canada after
18 months sanctuary in an Ottawa church. In the spring of 2005 his wife and 4 children
joined him. Samsu had not seen them for 10 years. Since that time all 4 adult children
have graduated from post secondary institutions and Samsu's dream of opening a
family-run restaurant was realized in West Ottawa. Unfortunately Samsu's wife Doly
died (of cancer) before the restaurant opened. Now, three years later a second family-
run restaurant is open in East Ottawa under the management of Samsu's second son
Musharraf with the help of his family members.
Mr. Samsu Mia, as chief chef, will provide his delicious dishes for fine dining or take-
out. His cooking is based on the recipes that he has refined over 20 years as an embassy
chef and in restaurants. All ingredients are fresh and prepared daily, including the
grinding of spices. Each dish has a unique flavor and can be seasoned to your individual
taste anywhere from light/mild to extra-hot!
Our aim is to ensure customer satisfaction through the quality of the food as well as
friendly, efficient service. We wish to provide an atmosphere that is comfortable
whether you are alone or with family, friends or business associates. We welcome and
value suggestions that will help us to serve you better.
We hope that you will enjoy this truly authentic Indian dining experience.
Thank you from the Mia Family!
